04:5111:30 – Homework reminder – push yourself to have more loving kindness this past week. Who did it? Who was stressed to do it this past week? Testimonials from people. How do you love someone you absolutely don’t like? Bob: you can love the person, you just don’t have to like the action (Love the sinner, hate the sin).
11:3114:44 – grab a tissue, blow nose, try to pass onto someone else (YUK GROSS)! If someone goes to offer you a dirty tissue, what can you say? “No thank you” – obvious words “ Put it in the bin” – kind words… What about offering an awful opinion instead of an icky object? Can you do the same? Say ‘No thank you’ instead of something harsh?
14:4516:49 quote from Lao-Zhu: “Care about people´s approval and you will be their prisoner. Do your work, then step back, the only path to serenity.” “Fill your bowl to the brim and it will spill. Keep sharpening your knife and it will blunt. Chase after money and security and your heart will never unclench. Care about people’s approval and you will be their prisoner. Do your work, then step back. The only path to serenity.” Discussion and interpretation by people.
16:5017:50 – homework: take a tissue, crumple it off and keep it in your pocket. When someone says something offensive or opinion, touch the tissue in your pocket to remind you of what to say.. “NO, THANK YOU!”
