Update.

First.
I promise not to make unscheduled e-mails a regular occurrence.

Second.
With regard to the portion of the speech given by David Foster Wallace, the link I provided to the entire speech did not go there. This link will get you the whole speech. It’s BRILLIANT and well worth reading.

Third.
Yes, I did know that the author killed himself and I purposely chose not to include that information. I figured it might throw people off. If you read the whole speech, you will get a much deeper sense of David Foster Wallace and what he was (and is) talking about.

Fourth.

Two reasons:

1) 40/52 = 0.76923. The newsletter is sent every Monday except the last of each month.
2) In school 77% was a passing grade and ROTB wants to remind you that life isn’t graded, it’s pass/fail.
