Simple Prayer: Patience

Dear God,
I wonder if the saints of old would have had as much patience as they possessed if they had to deal daily with such things as freeway on-ramps at five o’clock in the afternoon and ballpoint pens that won’t write when we want to use them. It is so very difficult to remain patient in such an imperfect world.

If babies never cried in the middle of an important event and if the same people didn’t seem to need our help with the same problems over and over again, I think patience would be a virtue at which more of us would excel. My world must really be imperfect. There are a lot of imperfect people who really know how to push my buttons. I suppose my own lack of perfection disturbs their imperfect world as well.

Is it possible that someone else is praying right now and asking for your help in having more patience with me?

Please help me to be more patient with others so others won’t have to pray so much and so often to have more patience with me.

The day Biden was elected, I texted them that a number of my friends and I were
